Janyce Kleinhans also known as Jan or Jany was born on October 9 1944 the first child of Arthur and Lola Kleinhans. Her sister Barbara was born in 1948 and her youngest sister Denise was born in 1955. Jan was born in New Mexico and raised in Colby Kansas. Jan moved to Colorado in her late teens and lived there until death. Jan held many positions in various businesses and before her retirement she worked for one law firm as the receptionist for 20 years. After she retired Jan enjoyed reading and cooking and going to the ballet and the theater. The Nutcracker was her favorite ballet and she would attend with her sister Barbara every year on the matinee of Christmas Eve. Jan had great aspirations of becoming an actress but it evaded her although she certainly tried and was very talented. This year in June she had a stroke and was sent to one hospital and then a rehabilitation center. She went to another hospital and then to hospice Inpatient Care. For the two and a half months of her life she was cared for at home by hospice personnel and her sister Barbara with whom she lived for over 50 years was her caregiver. Jan passed away on the morning of September 28, 2023. She was preceded indeath by her parents and her youngest sister Denise. Jan loved learning about the marvels of the universe and physics and always wanted to be able to travel through the stars. I hope that she will now be able to fulfill this dream.
