Janice "Jan" Runette Maklary
June 21, 1944 – January 19, 2026
Janice "Jan" Runette Maklary, age 81, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026, following a courageous and dignified battle with cancer. Throughout her journey, she remained a pillar of strength for her family, facing every challenge with the grace and resilience that defined her character.
A long-time resident of East Troy, Jan was a woman of remarkable warmth and spirit. Her life was defined by her heart for service; she spent many years caring for others as a nurse's aid at Lakeland and Kiwanis nursing homes. Her compassion and dedication to her patients left a lasting impact on the community.
In her quiet time, Jan was an avid reader and a talented crafter. She spent countless hours crocheting dolls, hats, and gloves, many of which became cherished gifts for her family and friends. Above all, her greatest pride was her family. Her kindness, wisdom, and the quiet strength she modeled will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Jan’s legacy lives on through her devoted family. She is survived by her three sons, James Maklary, Craig (Peggy) Maklary, and David (Becky) Maklary; her grandchildren, Zachary, Devin, Cyrus Maklary, Joshua Morales, and Rea Bagemehl; and her beloved great-granddaughter, Luna Maklary. She is also survived by her brother, Charles Snow, and her sister-in-law, Lori Snow, along with many cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Darroll and Runelle Snow, and her brothers, Kenneth Snow and Wade Snow.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude and heartfelt thanks to Debra Hedrick, Jared Snow, Charles Snow, and Lori Snow for stepping up and providing such devoted care for Jan during her battle with cancer. Their love and support allowed her to face her final journey with dignity and comfort.
