Our mother, Jan Ganaway passed away on June 11, 2024 at the age of 85 in Mesa, Arizona, formerly of Mason, Michigan. She was born on June 6, 1939 in Sioux City, Iowa. She is now free from her 11+ years of dementia and a few other health issues. Dementia is a brutal disease for everyone involved. Jan enjoyed going to the movie theater, ice cream, Bingo, Bowling, many types of crafts and traveling with the Gold wing Club. She and her husband Gary had traveled all over the country on their bike, making many memories. She had a good life. Mom enjoyed living in Arizona and had many friends. They would play cards, have street potlucks and go out in to the desert at night and have a campfire to roast hot dogs with a group and observe the beauty of the desert night sky. Jan retired from General Motors/Oldsmobile in Lansing, MI. Mom is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Gary Ganaway of Mesa, Arizona. Her children are Glenn (Kenna) Ganaway of Arizona, Colleen Grove of Arizona, Cindy (Sonny) Lewis of Arizona, Harold (Debi) Ganaway of Arizona and Cathy (Jeff) Carelson of Florida, Brother-in-Law Terry (Lyn) Ganaway of Florida. She has 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren. We would like to thank Sky Vista Senior Living, Noble Hospice and After.com for taking care of our mother. Everyone has been very kind and great at keeping us up to date. Rest in peace Mom. Cremation has taken place.
