Our beloved James Maxwell Worthington Berestoff
born December 1, 1977 transitioned on September 18, 2023 at 4:09 AM in hospital Portland, Oregon. James Maxwell had been residing in Portland.
James Maxwell was born with a spark of genius and a phenomenal sense of humor for every season of the year. Max could make you laugh and smile, always on the move with a love for lifes adventures. Max had a spirit that danced to the wind, Arman Barlows thoughts.
James Maxwell was a baker by trade, but was a good cook as well. Max could fix almost anything and once built his mother Ravae a closet and a sidewalk to her car made with pavers.
James Maxwell was on the honor roll in fifth and sixth grade. More recently he was self taught in anatomy and medical terminology. Max loved history and was an avid reader. Max's sister Hope said he was her hero. Max loved Jehovah God and had faith in the resurrection.
James Maxwell was preceded in death by Grandparents Ernie and Adele Berestoff, Elaine Williams, Marvin L Williams Sr and Irene Williams.
Aunt Pam Jones, Mina Barton, Cousin Israel Jones, and sister Makea Barlow.
James Maxwell is survived by mother Ravae' A Laine, brother Arman Barlow, Sister in law Genet Muhe Barlow, nieces Alaya and Ayanna Barlow, sister Hope Tomeo, Nephew Willis Tomeo, Son Anthony Demarre, Father and step mother Mark and Anna Berestoff, Uncles Scott Berestoff, Rick Williams, Ted Williams, Aunts Penny Taylor, Yalonda Jones Smith, and Marianne Armstrong, numerous cousins and friends. Please in lieu of flowers make a donation in Max's name to your local mental health facility.
In the spring of 2024 James Maxwell W Berestoff's ceremony will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
