The story of
In Loving Memory of James F. "Jim" Rose  James F. "Jim" Rose passed away peacefully Sunday, April 26, 2026, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. He was lovingly attended in his final days by his beloved wife Kristina, cherished child, Adelie “AJ”, and close friends and neighbors in Coal Creek Canyon – the place he lovingly called home. Born on October 30, 1953, Jim lived life with a spirit of adventure that never faded. After earning an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of North Texas in Denton, he embarked on his career. But it was during that time that his love for the outdoors truly took root, as he frequently embarked on backpacking trips with dear friends, exploring the rugged beauty of the Big Bend area in Texas. Jim’s love for the outdoors wasn’t confined to land. For over ten years, he and Kristina had a remarkable chapter as “live-aboard yachties” in the Caribbean, making Jim’s cherished ship, WINDSONG, their floating home. They not only returned with unforgettable memories, but with their dearest treasure – their child, Adelie. The family returned to the United States, where Jim was drawn to the serenity and natural beauty of Coal Creek Canyon. Not only did this community provide the ideal setting for his young family to thrive, but it also offered the outdoor activities he adored—skiing, hiking, camping, and fishing. Jim Rose’s legacy is one of adventure, love, and appreciation for the world’s natural wonders. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. His adventurous spirit, love of nature, and dedication to family and friends will live on through the many lives he touched. Jim is predeceased by his parents, James F. Rose, Sr. and Carolyn "Bruce" Rose (née Simmons), his brother Phillip D. Rose, and his nephew Caton Alexander Jones. He is survived by his devoted wife, Kristina M. Rose (née Koller), their child Adelie Rose, his sister Lisa Rose, niece Jade Rice Coats, and nephew Logan Glen Rice. Friends and loved ones are invited to join in a Celebration of Life to share memories, stories, and honor his remarkable journey. The service will be held on May 17, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Community Center in Coal Creek Canyon, located at 31528 CO-72, Golden, CO 80403.
