The story of
Jake Lawrence Strasburg, 46, of Eagle Mountain, Utah, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026 at American Fork Hospital. Jake was born on August 13, 1979, in American Fork, Utah, to Dorthea and Joseph Strasburg. He was raised by his Mom and “Dad” Chris Miles in Lehi, Utah, where Jake attended school. As his Mom’s only child, Jake was cherished and doted on by both her and his grandparents. On August 20, 2011 Jake married the love of his life, Courtney, whom he loving referred to as “Babe”. Together, with Jakes daughter Briane, they built a life centered on love, loyalty, and standing by each other through thick and thin. Jake was a devoted husband and father who loved spending time with his wife and daughter. He deeply valued family and connection; he had a playful spirit and a big heart. He relentlessly teased his nieces and nephews (who loved him in spite of this). Jake had struggles in life and battled his demons; his devoted wife Courtney stood faithfully by his side until the very end. That is not what will define Jakes life; he will be remembered for his love of family, his sense of humor, and the deep connections he shared with those closest to him. He always had a smile on his face and laughter in his deep blue eyes. He is survived by his wife, Courtney Strasburg; his daughter, Briane Strasburg; his parents Dorthea and Chris Miles; step-mother, Lisa Strasburg; brother, Travis Strasburg; sister, Tiffany (Michael) Whitner, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was proceeded in death by his father, Joseph Strasburg, his cousin, Tony Strasburg and his devoted cat Soncho who crossed the rainbow bridge last month and was surely there to welcome him. Please join us in celebrating Jake’s life on May 17th from 1:00 – 4:00 at 355 N 1060 W, Lehi, Utah. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to @Courtney-Strasburg via Venmo to contribute to medical costs.
