Jack A. Godfrey, 73, passed away due to COVID-19 pneumonia on July 3, 2023, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born on July 28, 1949, in Seattle, Washington, and led a happy, active life filled with friends and family. He loved drag racing, vintage cars, and finding old coins for his incredible coin collection.
Jack was preceded in death by his beloved Shih Tzu, Jasmine (Jazzy, The Baby), his dearest friend Janie Lee, his two children, Amber Doster and Christie Vonville, a grandson, Aaron Vonville, four granddaughters, Ashley Vonville, Emma Kate Doster, Anna Doster, Lauren Doster, and sons-in-law, David Doster, and Jimmy Forrester.
Jack survived a heart transplant in 1999 and has lived his life well in the Phoenix area for the past 12 years. He earned the love and trust of many friends who treated him like family. Jack was an exceptional friend to so many from Washington, Colorado, California, Arizona, and Georgia. He was a longshoreman for the City of Seattle his entire career and retired due to a medical disability in the late 90s.
