Irma Maria Sherwood was born in Kingston, Jamaica on 28 March 1932, with her birth certificate being in Guantanamo, Cuba. Her peaceful and long-awaited departure from this life to the next was on 13 October 2022. She was one of two surviving children of Josefa Oris-Ruban & Oswald Louis Sherwood. The other surviving sibling is Delia C Sherwood. Her late siblings are, oldest to youngest, Oscar L Sherwood of Cuba, Rene Sherwood of Cuba, Melva L Sherwood of Cuba, & Gloria Sherwood also of Cuba. Irma survived her late previous husband, Leon G Foster, and her only daughter, Nicte’ Sunsire’ Foster. Irma left behind a legacy of strength, courage, and love. She also left behind three grandsons, David L Douglas, Brian L Douglas & Brock C Douglas (the latter two being twins), and ten great-grandchildren.
