Harve Allen Carpenter, 74, passed away peacefully in his sleep early in the morning hours on June 19th, 2023, in Denver, Colorado. He was born to George and Doris Carpenter in Otero County, Colorado on April 23rd, 1949, Harve was born 3rd out of 4 children.
Harve was raised in southeastern Colorado around La Junta and spent time on the family farm of his Grandfather William when he was younger. After moving with the family to Colorado Springs, he attended Palmer High School where he was on the wrestling team. After high school, Harve joined the Navy and spent 2 years in service with one tour to Vietnam, where he earned the Meritorious Service Medal for his actions during a fire onboard ship. While in the Navy he also learned to weld as a Machinist Mate. After learning this skill, Harve later joined the Army Core of Engineers as a civilian contractor working in both Greenland and Panama as a welder. Later in life, Harve had various jobs in industrial manufacturing, mostly welding. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed tinkering on his various cars. After a motorcycle accident that left him medically disabled from working, Harve lived with his mother Doris until his medical needs necessitated a skilled nursing facility for dementia.
Harve is survived by two sons. His first-born son Cleve John Carpenter, currently living in Nampa, ID. His second-born son Thomas (Jamie) Carpenter, currently living in Denver, CO. Harve is also survived by his older brother Bill (Jane) Carpenter and his brother-in-Law Dave Farrell along with various cousins and nephews.
Harve was preceded in death by his parents George and Doris Carpenter; a brother, Harold Carpenter; and his sister, Jan Farrell.
Harve had his own special way of pissing people off with his hardheaded stubborn ways, but he loved his family, and he will be missed.
An informal public Celebration of Life will be held at 1 pm on Saturday July 8th, 2023, at The View House Colorado Springs on the patio in view of Pikes Peak.
