The story of
George Raymond ForesterJr, known as Bud, left us peacefully, on November 14th, 2023, surrounded by loved ones in Sandy, OR. Bud was born July 23, 1935 to Elsie Thelma (Heard) Forester and George Ramond Forester Sr. in Parkrose, OR. He was the only son and the youngest of 4 with his sisters Joy, Rose and Betty. Bud was raised with positive family values and a strong work ethic that carried on throughout his life. Bud was a loyal son, devoted husband to Joan whom he married on December 29th, 1956, a loving father of 5 children, and a proud grandpa to many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bud & Joan began raising their family in Milwaukie, OR. Bud began his career of 69 years as a skilled general contractor / carpenter. The family moved to Sandy, OR in 1964. Bud’s career lead him on many job sites, of which he was proud of. Always pointing out and telling stories starting with. “I worked on that building” or “I did a job for that company” Bud worked with his father to build a home for his parents. Later he built a new home for his own family. Bud was an active member of The church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. Bud was easily spotted in town driving his work van with his flat top haircut and his quilted plaid button up shirts. Mostly red, sometimes blue. Bud was many things to many people. Whether he was wearing the hat of son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, role model, friend, Bud the Builder or even Mr. Fix It; he led by example treating everyone with kindness, generosity and respect. Bud’s presence will be missed. His spirit will live on in treasured memories and he will always be remembered as one of the greatest men to walk on earth. Bud was preceded in death by many loved ones. Bud’s father George, mother Elsie, three sisters; Joy, Rose, Betty, his son Luke, son in law Bob, grand daughter Katrina and his dog Duke. Bud is survived by a long list of loved ones who will miss him tremendously. That list includes, but is not limited to: his wife Joan of 67 years, son Lee Forester (Pam) of Kelso, WA. and three daughters Laurie Rodden of Sandy, OR, Lynn Forester of Gresham, OR, Lisa Contreras (Sam) of Goldendale, WA, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
