The story of
Fred was born in Philiadelphia, PA on September 25, 1941. He passed peacefully in his sleep at age 84 while being cared for at Sunrise at Pinehurst Assisted Living in Denver Elevation Hospice was also caring for him there. Fred was preceeded in death by his parents Frederick Essig, Sr and Lillian Hessner Essig. The family of three moved to Gulf Port, Florida when Fred was 15. Between times on the beach with friends, he attended Boca Ciega HS. He later was married and had two sons, Carl and Phillip. While his boys were young Fred worked full time, went to college and was in the Army Reserves. He lived and worked in Florida and Georgia before moving to Colorado. His final employment was at Martin Marrietta for 20 years. Fred met Christine A Johnson Benjamin at an adjustment to divorce class. They were married on June 21, 1987. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, December 3rd, from 11 AM to 1 PM MST at Village Cooperative of Chatfield 9155 W Fairview Ave. Littleton, CO. ZOOM will be available between 11:15 and 12:00 noon. If you wish to ZOOM please text or emial Chris for the link.
