The story of
Fluraleen (Flo) Bentley passed away on July 21, 2025, in Chandler, AZ at the young(ish) age of 72. Flo was born May 23, 1953, in Ventura, CA to Isaiah and Octave Brown. She was the second youngest of 10. Her family knew her as ‘Chico’, because of her deep voice! She was always making everyone around her laugh, even in the end. She was also an amazing cook; if food was a love language, it would be hers! Flo worked in social work and retired as a benefits specialist for Ventura County. She was extremely proud of her children and had a unique relationship with each of them. With great food and lots of laughter, she had a way of making everyone around her feel welcome. She will be missed by many; family, friends, and the staff at Angels Wings, who took amazing care of her during her final weeks. Lastly, she will be missed by her trusty side-kick and fur baby, Misty. Flo is preceded in death by her parents, Octave and Isaiah Brown; her brother Ashton Brown, sisters Evaleen Rone, Marion Johnson, Linda Taylor, Vergaleen Kelly, brother Isaiah Brown, and sister Isaleen Weathers. She is survived by her children and their partners/spouses: Danni (Tama) and Susan Bentley, Olaleye (JR) Talabi and Sondra Yarbrough, and Jacob and Stephanie Talabi; her grandsons: Devin Diaz and Allen Bass-Goodman; her sisters: Lurleen Parks, Pauleen Brown, and Quileen Brown; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. It was Flo’s wish to be cremated and to have her ashes scattered in the ocean. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
