It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved grandmother, Elsie Francis Luck, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 20th, at the age of 94.
Born on February 2, 1932, in Yelm, Washington, Elsie dedicated much of her life to caring for her family and creating a home filled with cherished memories. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and quilting. She found great joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends. Though her absence leaves an ache that words cannot fully express, her presence remains in every cherished memory, every lesson she taught, and the love she left behind.
She is survived by her son, James Luck; her daughter, Judy Samuelian; her grandchildren, Rick Luck, Ryan Luck, Sabrina Luck, and Frank Williams; and many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Luck; her parents, Amy and George Beard; and many of her siblings.
Elsie’s legacy of compassion, resilience, and unconditional love will continue to live on in all who were fortunate enough to know her.
On a personal note, Elsie was more than a grandmother to me; she was my closest friend, my mirror, and my grounding presence. To the world, she may have been a fleeting light, but to me, she was infinite. Growing up with her was to know comfort, care, and laughter. Our companionship felt like gravity—natural, constant, and unwavering. She reminded me that life, even in its brevity, is worth everything. We will carry her forward in laughter, in memory, and in the quiet moments when the world feels infinite.
May she rest in peace.
