The story of
Dorothy “Elise” Kimrey passed away on Friday, April 17th, 2026 in Dallas, Texas. Born Dorothy Elise Staffe on July 29th, 1957 in Roslyn, New York, Elise was the youngest child to Edward Wesley Staffe and Dorothy Vienna (Jumper) Staffe. She grew up in Great Neck, New York. Elise always knew that she was a Texan at heart, claiming to be a Texan held against her will in New York, just awaiting her opportunity to relocate. In 1978, she finally seized the first opportunity and migrated to Dallas, Texas. This is where she would meet her future husband, Stephen Michael “Mike” Kimrey, and lay down roots. Mike and Elise were married in an intimate ceremony on September 13th, 1980, and would enjoy the next 46 years of marriage, which included three children, six grandchildren, and three adopted grandchildren, all of whom Elise loved dearly. Elise will be remembered for her fiery spirit, infectious vigor for life- always the life of the party as a social butterfly and friend to all that met her- her kind heart, loving soul, and her unwavering and fierce love and devotion for her family and friends. Elise is survived by her husband and true soulmate of 46 years Mike Kimrey, son Joseph Michael Kimrey (Angela Marie Kimrey) of Rowlett, Texas, her daughter Heather June Clark (Matthew Asa Clark) of Alpharetta, Georgia, and her daughter Christine Elise Delgado of Forney, Texas, as well as her grandchildren: Aiden Asa Clark, Ryder Michael Clark, Sophia Marie Kimrey, Cash James Delgado, Addalee Rain Clark, and Lana Elise Delgado, and her adopted grandchildren: Debbie Ann “Annie” Delgado, Drake Xavier Smith, and Ariana Jasmine Delgado. Elise is also survived lovingly and loyally by her dog, Ziva. Elise is predeceased by her Father Edward Wesley Staffe, her Mother Dorothy Vienna Staffe, Brother Wayne Staffe, and Brother Wesley Craig Staffe. Elise was truly a light that couldn’t be dimmed, and she will be missed greatly by all those that knew and loved her. A Celebration of Life for Elise Kimrey will be hosted by the family on Saturday, May 16th, 2026 at 4pm at the Kimrey home, located at 3214 Woodbridge Lane Rowlett, TX 75088. Please feel free to come by, visit with the family, and share your favorite stories of Elise.
