The story of
Donald Kendrew, 77, of South Jordan, Utah, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on September 29, 1948, Donald was the beloved son of the late Bernice Ramay and the late Leroy Kendrew. He was raised with strong values of hard work, loyalty, and devotion—qualities that defined the way he lived his life. Donald proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, carrying the principles of honor and integrity with him long after his military service ended. He went on to build a successful career at California Steel Industries in Fontana, California, where he served as a manager. He was respected for his leadership, dedication, and the way he took care of both his responsibilities and the people around him. Above all else, Donald was a family man. He cared deeply about everyone and made sure those he loved were always taken care of. His steady presence, protective heart, and generous spirit brought comfort and strength to his family. He was a loving and devoted husband to his beloved wife, Vicki Kendrew. Their marriage was rooted in loyalty, tenderness, and a love that endured through every season of life. They often shared a simple but powerful promise with one another: “I love you and always will.” Those words were not just a saying — they were the foundation of their life together and a reflection of the love that carried them through to the very end. Donald is survived by his children: Erin Kendrew; Brian Clark and his wife Valerie; and Nicole Freeman and her husband David. He was a proud and adoring grandfather to Megera Clark, MacKenzie Hayward and her husband Dylan, Brandon Freeman, and Katie Freeman. His grandchildren were a great joy in his life and a continuation of the legacy he built through love and dedication. He is also survived by his sisters, Claudia Perles and Lavonne Gasca Más, along with extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply. Donald’s life was one of quiet strength, deep compassion, and steadfast devotion. Though he will be profoundly missed, the love he gave so freely remains woven into the hearts of his family.
