The story of
Early in the morning of Saturday, December 2nd, Donald E. Green left us to be with the Lord. He was born to Juel and Edith Green on October 15th, 1945. Donald attended Tolleson High School and played Varsity Football. Shortly thereafter, Donald married his High School sweetheart Penny. Donald then attended Phoenix College in hopes of continuing his Football career but decided to move into Engineering. Donald started his career as a Plummer to help support his family. He then got involved in Construction Materials Management with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). Then in 1973, he was hired at Arizona Testing Labs (ATL) as their Chief Engineer. As his career progressed he became the most important Materials Engineer in the State of Arizona and surrounding areas. When his tenure at ATL was completed he then took his talents to The Tanner Companies and what is now owned by Cemex. During this time Donald’s recognition grew by leaps and bounds. He was on the board of many associations including the Arizona Rock Products Association (ARPA) and many others. His hobbies included spending time with his family & dog (Jake), doing the work that he loved in Materials Testing, and playing Racquetball and Scuba Diving with his two sons. Don and his beloved wife of many years, Connie, enjoyed traveling and especially enjoyed their trips to Rocky Point. Donald is survived by his wife, Connie, his two sons, Aaron (wife Tammy) and Adrian (wife Raquel), stepdaughters, Cheryl (wife Patty) and Robin as well as 3 grandchildren (Brittany, Ariel, and Marcus) and 4 beautiful great-grandchildren.
