Deby Lynn Carlson was born on September 22nd, 1962 in Portage, Wisconsin. As a child, she was adopted alongside her brother Kevin and raised in sunny Long Beach, California. She passed away peacefully on October 20th, 2022, in Provo, Utah, in the loving company of her daughters. She was 60 years old.
Deby is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Joyce Colborn, her brother Richard (Nyla) Colborn, and her son James Tisdale. She is survived by her siblings, Sue (Robert) Dransfield, and Kevin Colborn, her children Britni Tisdale, Jason (Lacey) Tisdale, Shantel Carlson, and Kelsy (Kristopher) Andrus, her grandchildren, Harlie, Jaelyn, Jayse, Page, James, and Joey, and her great-grandson Ziggy.
Deby attended Robert Millikan High School where she enjoyed spinning the baton, a skill she would continue to show off for the rest of her life. As her children grew, she was active in the PTA, and as a team mom to her children’s teammates and coaches. She became well known as Mama D to children all over American Fork. She could often be caught sporting a mascot suit or character costume to support local schools and community events. Whether she was collecting clothing or crocheting Mama D Design hats and stuffed animals, blankets, and more, she was always finding ways to donate to Primary Children’s Hospital, local schools, and others in her community.
Deby Carlson made the people in her life smile. She'll be remembered for her charming, booming voice and the love she showed everyone she met. Deby knew how to make you laugh, keep you well-fed, and always make your day awesome blossom.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 29th, 2022 at the LDS Stake Center located at 240 S. Center St. American Fork, Utah 84003.
