The story of David
David A. Hankins was born on August 9, 1974, to Carolyn Fox and Edward Hankins. He passed away peacefully on December 7, 2022, surrounded by loved ones in the same city he was born in, Phoenix, AZ. David was a kind and generous man, a proud Choctaw Indian, a skilled carpenter, an animal lover, an avid KC Chiefs fan, and a best friend to many. He enjoyed sitting around the fire with his family while listening to music and drinking his favorite beer. He loved being papa to his four grandkids. David is joining the spirits of his beloved father, Edward, wonderful aunt Nancy, and companion Stacey. He is survived by his mother, Carolyn; his brothers, Greg (Brandi) and Austin; his wife (separated in 2017) and mother of all of his children, Nichole; his five kids, David Jr (Angel), Caitlin (Austin), Alana (Gavin), Brendan, and Elisea; and his four grandchildren, Gavin Jr, Waylon, Georgia, and Eva. He is also survived by grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who were all so dear to him. At his end, David was able to express his generosity one last time by giving life through organ and tissue donation. It was his desire to be cremated and his ashes distributed to his loved ones. The Hankins Family would like to extend gratitude to all those who were so kind and generous in this time of need. They also extend many thanks to all of the staff at Abrazo West Hospital who cared for David in his final moments.
