Within the deepest feelings of grief, we announce the passing of our mother, Dana Lydon-Reed on May 18, 2024, due to complications from illness.
Born on January 1, 1962, Dana spent her life as a beauty stylist and caregiver. She had a passion for all forms of art, freedom of expression, and the natural world. Her most profound passion, was being a mom. She dedicated her life to her children, and was an embodiment of love, strength, and resilience to all who knew her. Throughout her life she fought illness and hardship, while never giving up. Even in the darkest of times she found joy, and taught her children how to do the same. For her family and friends, she always provided a home-cooked meal, an art project for school, was a shoulder to cry on, and was someone to dance with.
Before her passing, Dana dedicated her remaining years to caring for her mother, Patricia Bothwell, as her final act of love and devotion to her family. At 3:42am on May 18th, Dana passed away in her sleep with her three children by her side.
Dana's beautiful legacy will be remembered, and cherished by her daughters Kelsea Lydon and Hallie Reed, her son, Skyler Reed, and her granddaughters, Maeve and Rileigh McGinn, who were all the center of Dana's world.
Always feeling a spiritual connection with the power, grace, and freedom of waterfalls, Dana's wishes are for her ashes to be set free at Tunnel Falls in the Columbia Gorge, Oregon. A memorial service will be held in a year's time (May, 2025) to honor her final chapter.
May her soul rest in everlasting peace, with the relief of the hardships that have melted away. Despite her untimely departure, Dana's loving spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who knew her, and she will live on in our hearts forever.
