The story of
Dale Ellwood Brick passed away peacefully on May 19, 2024 at the Broadway Mesa Village Memory Care facility in Mesa, AZ. Dale previously lived in the Highlands of Brentwood community in Mesa, AZ since 2009 with his late wife, Patricia. Dale was born on July 9, 1927 in the small town of Mansfield, SD, to Fred and Ester Brick. Dale grew up on the family farm near Mansfield, SD. Dale had two brothers, Duane and Daryl, who also lived on the farm. Dale attended Warner High School and graduated in 1944. Dale enlisted in the Army in 1946, and was stationed near Yamoto, Japan with the 11th Airborne Division. Dale returned and attended Northern State Teacher’s College taught school in McLaughlin, SD from 1951-1953. Dale attended the University of Minnesota Dental School from 1953-1957. While attending dental school, Dale met the love of his life, Patricia Gail Wallin, and began their relationship. Dale and Patricia were married on March 9, 1957 in Faribault, MN. After graduation, Dale and Patricia moved to Mitchell, SD, were he established his practice until his retirement in 1990. Dale and Patricia lived in Alameda, CA from 1991-1993 and then returned back to SD until their final move to Mesa, AZ in 2009. Dale and Patricia enjoyed the southwestern living and the retired life until Patricia’s passing in 2016. Dale was preceded in death by his wife Patricia, in 2016, his eldest daughter Dawn, in 2019, and his other daughter Lorelee, in 2024. His survivors include his son, Todd Brick and his wife Carmen, of Nashua, NH, and five grandchildren.
