The story of
Christine Ivy Grace (“Chris”) passed away in Everett, Washington, on June 25, 2025. Born in Wolverhampton, UK, she was the second of four children of Kathleen and Leslie Webb. Chris shared a special bond with her beloved grandmother, Annie Trusselle, with whom she sometimes lived. It was through Annie that Chris developed a deep appreciation for family history and a lifelong enjoyment of needlework. While attending technical school in England, Chris met the love of her life, John Grace, a young engineering student. John was drawn to her radiant smile and determined spirit—qualities that defined Chris throughout her life. Though she had planned to study nursing, she shifted course so she and John could purchase their first home after marrying in the historic Church of St. Michael and All Angels in Tettenhall Regis. Their sons, Stephen and Kevin, were born in the next few years. Between their births, Chris and John made a bold move to Vancouver, Canada, in search of a better life. When their time in Canada came to an end, they relocated to Everett, Washington, where John began work at The Boeing Company. However, Chris always felt the pull of family, and in the 1970s, she persuaded John to return to the UK for a while. Eventually, the view of the Puget Sound drew them back to Mukilteo, where they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with friends and family. When her sons were older, Chris pursued her passion for excellence in the workplace. She worked in banking, and healthcare—serving as an assistant to a hospital architect and later as a senior executive assistant at General Hospital in Everett (now Providence). Later Chris started her own business, “Grace Under Pressure,” which she operated until her retirement. Chris and John also became the devoted guardians of their grandson, Jason. Chris guided Jason toward independence with the same love and dedication she poured into all aspects of life. Chris, along with Jason, enjoyed singing with the choir at Trinity Episcopal Church in Everett, where she formed many friendships. Eleven years ago, Chris suffered a stroke. Though it changed parts of her life, her determination remained. Jason reflected, “After the stroke, she was different, but she was still the same strong-willed person in my eyes.” Chris took great pride in watching Jason grow into the man she laughed with, bragged about, and loved deeply. Chris was predeceased by her parents and two siblings. She is survived by her husband, John; her brother, Graham; sons (Stephen Lisa) and (Kevin Cheryl); grandchildren Christopher, Johnathan, Kaylena and Jason; and nine great-grandchildren. She leaves behind many friends. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on July 20 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Everett. The service will be officiated by Rachel Taber-Hamilton, with interment in the Trinity columbarium. A reception will follow in the Guild room. The family requests donations in lieu of flowers be sent to the Trinity Discretionary Fund.
