The story of
Carlos Armas Bravo April 11, 1935 – December 14, 2025 Carlos Armas Bravo, a man of profound strength, hard work, and deep family devotion, passed away peacefully at his home in Chino, California, on December 14, 2025, surrounded by the family he loved so dearly. He was 90 years old. A Life of Hard Work and Purpose Born on April 11, 1935, in Amatlán de Cañas, Nayarit, Mexico, to Canuto and Pomposa Armas, Carlos came to the United States as a young man. He began his journey as a migrant farmworker, laboring in the fields of Santa Barbara and the Imperial Valley. Through perseverance and a tireless work ethic, he eventually transitioned into a career as a machinist and steelworker in the petroleum industry. A Devoted Family Man Carlos’ life was centered on his family. Alongside his wife, Amalia, he raised his three youngest sons—Omar, Octavio, and Osvaldo—in South Gate, California. He was a constant presence in the lives of his children, maintaining a bond with his daughters, Marilu and Elena, in Long Beach, and sharing many meaningful years with his eldest son, Michael, during his youth in South Gate. Carlos was a man who cherished his roots and his kin. He found great joy in the company of his siblings and looked forward to his many trips to visit family in Mexicali. He was the heart of many gatherings, known for having a good time and celebrating the bonds of blood and friendship. Legacy Carlos was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Enrique, Manuel, Alfredo, Amparo, Rodolfo, Trinidad, Josefina, and Emerita. His legacy lives on through his devoted wife, Amalia Armas; his children, Michael, Marilu, Elena, Omar, Octavio, and Osvaldo; and his beloved grandchildren, Ernie, Rudy, Joshua, and his “mas bonita de todas,” Jasmin. Services In accordance with Carlos’ wishes, there will be no immediate services. The family invites friends and loved ones to join them for a Celebration of Life in April 2026, where they will honor his 90-plus years of life and the indelible mark he left on everyone who knew him.
