The story of Candice
Candice Renee Hamilton, 42, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, from an acute pulmonary embolism. Candice was an employee of the Utah Transit Authority, who loved her job serving the public as a bus driver and enjoyed her coworkers. Candice was also a passionate and talented artist and leaves behind many beautiful paintings, drawings, and photographs that display not only her talent but her inventiveness and creativity. She also wrote poetry and had finished a novel, a self-illustrated picture book, and two screenplays. Her family treasures these memorials to her beautiful spirit. She graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1998 and attended SUNY Potsdam, Utah College of Massage Therapy, and the University of Utah. Candice served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Montevideo, Uruguay where she learned and spoke fluent Spanish. Candice was the daughter of David Bradford Elliott (formerly David Hamiton) who preceded her in death and Evelyn Louise Taylor. In addition to her mother and step-father Kevin Grumbling, she is survived by her step-mother Leona J Ludwig Elliott Keesling, and her siblings: Taylor Hamilton, Broderick (Adrian McCoy) Elliott, Chase (Stephanie Pierce) Grumbling, Nicole “Nikki” (Mahonri) Smith, Kira (Jay) Leavitt, Alexandria Elliott, Paris (Heather Degn) Elliott, Avi (Ainsley Shumway) Elliott, as well as 17 nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lakeridge 8th Ward building located at 80 W 900 S in Orem, UT, followed by a luncheon and visit. Interment will be at the Mountain View Cemetery in Gabriels, NY. Contributions and flowers may be sent c/o Avi Elliott, 761 E 550 S. #204, American Fork, UT 84003.
