It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bruce Miller of Peoria, Arizona on August 19th, 2025. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, uncle, cousin, and friend.
Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Lucy, brother Gaylord, sister Yvonne, and brother Don. He is survived by his wife, Rita, nephews James (Heather) Miller, Nathan Miller, Jared (Heather) Shannon, Randall (Megan) Flotten and great nieces Hailey, Ava and Alex Miller.
Bruce was born on May 12, 1958, in Elkhart, Indiana to Eddie and Lucy Miller. He was the youngest of four children. Bruce would spend his high school and college summers working at Eddie's Marathon gas station. He was proud of his Amish heritage and often spoke of the many cousins he grew up with. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them when they would visit Arizona or when he made trips back to his hometown.
After graduating High School, he attended Missouri State College where he received his bachelor’s degree in computer programming. Bruce was on the gymnastics team, spending hours on the rings and competing in college events. After graduation, Bruce moved to Arizona where he eventually ended up working for Syntellect/Enghouse. That is where he met and married his wife Rita of 24 years. Bruce spent 30 years of his career at Syntellect/Enghouse where he started as an engineer and eventually made Vice President.
Bruce had a big heart and shared it with all he loved the most, especially animals which is why Bruce fostered labradors for many years, he was President of the organization for a few years and genuinely enjoyed volunteering. He helped rehome over 36 labs and during that process foster failed a few times which kept his house full of love.
He had a unique way of drawing people close to him, and his infectious laugh was adored by all that knew him.
He had many hobbies throughout his life with the love of riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle at the top of the list. He looked forward to his yearly motorcycle vacation taking weeks to plan it out. He was an avid snowboarder and a natural at it. Camping, grilling outdoors, playing golf with friends and family, and playing baseball were just some of the hobbies he enjoyed in life! Bruce was one of a kind and will forever be deeply missed.
He was immensely proud of his nieces and looked forward to spending time with them any chance he could. This year he took the twins to Germany for vacation and the time he shared with them was priceless.
A celebration of life will be held in Indiana at a later date.
