The story of
We are extremely heartbroken to announce the passing of Denise Trott on January 21, 2025. Denise was born May 14, 1954, in Independence, Kansas, and grew up and lived out her life in Denver, Colorado. Denise lived a life of giving to others, she spent 45 years at the Denver Police Department providing safety and comfort to the citizens of Denver, she maintained a life of volunteerism through Volunteers of America and the Justice Information Center and provided care and comfort to the many friends who became family to her over the years. She received many awards and accolades for her life’s work, including being named the Minoru Yasui Volunteer of the Year and having a proclaimed day of celebration in her honor from Denver Mayor Wellington Webb. She was an accomplished seamstress who designed and made all her own clothes and that one spectacular prom dress for Tiffany that she was so proud of. Her biggest joy in life was being an active part in the lives of her grandchildren, with whom she made the best memories and provided her with much laughter, pride, and joy with all their accomplishments. Denise is survived by her daughter, Tiffany Nicole Trott; her loving grandchildren Brandon Dowdell (Nicole), Zachary Dowdell, and Sydney Belton; her brother Kenny Justice (Gail); and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
