The story of
Barbara Lee Cundell, age 77, born in Joplin, MO passed away peacefully Saturday morning, October 21st in Denver, CO. She is preceded in death by husband, Charles (the love of her life), whom she was married to for 52 years, her sister: Jessica, father: John, mother: Virginia, and stepmother: Pearl. She is survived by her 3 daughters and their husbands (Tami and Michael, Sabrina and Paul, and Tara and Barry), 6 grandchildren (Scott, Amanda, Sarah, Tasha, Eric, and Steve), 3 great grandchildren (Shyanne, Sawyer, and Stetson), brother John, brother Jim, and sister Sherry. In life, Barbara was a certified nurse aide when she met her husband at age 19 and then later in life when her children were in high school. She raised her girls on a farm in Eastern Colorado. She was a country girl at heart and was found to go out in the yard during the afternoon, hands on hip, stating, “What shall we have for dinner?” She would spot her victim (dinner) and go and take it. Fresh food was often found on her table. Barbara was an excellent cook, not a “chef style” cook, but rather “what you have in your pantry” cook. She made homemade noodles, homemade pies, canned vegetables, and homemade jellies. Barbara was also a prankster and would pull off some pretty clever pranks such as the time she put a large stuffed doll in bed with her husband just to see how he would react. Charles reacted with temperance. Those who knew Barbara best will miss her humor the most and her love of a good joke. Per her wishes, no public funeral/memorial will be held.
