Angela Lee Latonis February 27, 1942 – August 8, 2026 Angela Lee Latonis passed away on August 8, 2026, at the age of 84, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of strength, hard work, perseverance, and, above all, family. Angela was born on February 27, 1942, in Springfield, Illinois, to Vincent and Mary Romanotto. She grew up as one of six children. Angela went on to become the proud mother of seven children: Tim (Denise) Latonis; Christina Latonis; Chuck (Patty) Latonis; Tony Latonis; Melissa Selin; Anne Latonis; and Tricia (Justin) Parnell. When her children were all under the age of 17, Angela found herself raising them as a single mother. With incredible courage and determination, she packed up her family and moved to Arizona to build a new life for them. She found a job at Safeway, where her strong work ethic and dedication carried her through an incredible 33-year career before her retirement. Angela knew what it meant to work hard, to sacrifice, and to keep going even when life was difficult. Everything she did was rooted in providing for and caring for her family. The life she built is reflected in the generations that followed her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Mary Romanotto; her siblings Rosie Capranica; Theresa Reed; and Butch Romanotto; and her son-in-law, Dave Selin. Angela is survived by her sister, Mary Louise Colwell; her brother, Leo Romanotto; her seven children; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many other family members and loved ones who will carry her memory with them. Angela’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Jubilee of the Desert for the compassion, kindness, and care they provided during the final year of her life. Knowing she was cared for and supported during that time meant more than words can express. Angela’s life was one of resilience. She faced challenges head-on, worked tirelessly, raised a large family, and created a life for her children through determination and love. Her story lives on in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and in the countless memories shared by those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
