Andrew Geoffrey Torrey, 66, of Bremerton, Washington, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and love. Born in Quincy, Massachusetts, Andy was known for his quick wit, generous heart, and deep compassion for others.
Andy attended Mt. Ararat High School and later earned his G.E.D. He was an avid rhythym and blues listener and talented guitar player, often spending hours immersed in the music he loved. A devoted fan of fishing and Stephen King novels, Andy found joy in peaceful moments and the thrill of a good story.
To know Andy was to know the true meaning of generosity—he was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back. He never judged others and treated everyone he met with empathy and respect. His uncanny sense of humor and quick wit made him unforgettable, and his ability to make others feel seen and valued was one of his greatest gifts.
Andy is survived by his loving brother Robert Torrey and wife Erika of McDonough, GA; his two nephews, Christian McKibben Torrey of Tucker , Ga and Jordan McKibben Torrey of McDonough, his best friend Jim Wilkerson of Bremerton, WA; his cherished stepdaughter Jennifer Demouchet, also of Bremerton; and the light of his life, his granddaughter Nyemah Demouchet, lovingly known as “Pawpaw’s little boo boo” in addition to many other friends and family members.
He is preceded in death by his Mother Priscilla C.Torrey (Mougo), Father John Q. Torrey II, his only sister Carole Torrey, the love of his life Camelia Demouchet, and his beloved cat Pooh.
Per Andy’s wishes, there will be no formal service. Instead, his family invites everyone to honor his memory by practicing the kindness he lived by—through compassion to strangers and warmth to those in need. Andy’s spirit lives on in every good deed and every shared laugh.
