Amelita “Amy” D. Cruz, 63, of Surprise, Arizona, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Amy was born on August 26, 1962, in Pilar, Abra, Philippines, to Amando and Necita Doliente. She carried her roots with her throughout her life, embodying strength, resilience, and deep devotion to her family.
She married the love of her life, Carlos D. Cruz, and together they built a life grounded in love and commitment, sharing 42 beautiful years of marriage. In 1992, their journey brought them to Luke Air Force Base in Arizona, where Amy laid the foundation for her family’s life together.
Amy dedicated over 32 years to working in the food service industry, a reflection of her strong work ethic and caring nature. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She raised three children—Cindy Rae Cruz-Beardsley (Timothy), Traci Ann Vopalensky (Kyle), and Darien Joseph Cruz—all of Surprise, Arizona, with unwavering love and support.
Her greatest joy was her family. She cherished every moment with her three grandchildren, Natalia, Nikolas, and Lincoln, who brought immense pride and happiness to her life. She also adored her beloved poodle, Lucky, who was never far from her side.
Amy is preceded in death by her father, Amando. She leaves behind her loving husband, Carlos; her mother, Necita; her children; her grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends who will miss her deeply.
In accordance with her wishes, Amy will be cremated, and her ashes will remain with her family at home—a place filled with the love and memories she treasured most.
Amy’s legacy is one of quiet strength, deep love, and unwavering dedication to those she held dear. She will be forever loved and never forgotten.
