Alline Mae Sutton Chaffin, age 81, of Glendale, Arizona, formerly of Charleston, West Virginia, went to be with the Lord on April 1, 2025. Born on October 10, 1943, in Ansted, West Virginia, Alline lived a life marked by deep faith, unwavering love for her family, and dedication to service.
She graduated from Charleston Center College and later retired as a payroll clerk from Valley Bell Dairy. A devoted member of Open Door Apostolic Church for 60 years, Alline's passion for her faith and church community was a cornerstone of her life. She cherished time spent with her family and was known for her kind heart, and steadfast devotion.
Alline was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walden C. Chaffin, and her parents, Marvin and Dolly Sutton.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Bonnie Switzer, and son-in-law, Gary Switzer of Peoria, Arizona; her beloved grandson, Michael Chaffin, and his wife, Adelynn, of Scottsdale, Arizona; and four cherished great-grandchildren: Abrahm, Ben, Dexter, and Everlee. She also leaves behind her twin sister, Irene Hundley of Ansted, WV; sisters Marguerite (Randy) Kisner of Cape Coral, FL, and Sharon Kay (Gary) Smith of St. Albans, WV; and brothers Johnny (Gail) Sutton of Virginia, and Paul Sutton of Ansted, WV. Her memory will be forever treasured by all who knew and loved her.
A celebration of life service will be held at Open Door Apostolic Church, 2630 Kanawha Blvd E., Charleston, WV, on June 1st, with Pastor Chris Sowards officiating. Friends and family may begin gathering at 2:00 PM, with the service to follow at 3:00 PM. A private interment will be held on Monday.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Open Door Apostolic Church in Alline's memory.
