Allen Lee Vigil, age 65, entered his heavenly transition on December 21, 2025, in Rancho Mirage, California, after a brave battle with cancer.
Allen was a joyful, spirited dad who showed us wholeheartedly that life is meant to be enjoyed. He was a master of wit and a storyteller extraordinaire to his grandkids. As a brother, he dedicated his hard work selflessly to his family, always prioritizing their needs. His deep care for his nieces and nephews shone through often teasing in good fun, putting on hilarious displays and showcasing his humor, just to see their reactions and reminding everyone that joy can be found in the simplest of moments.
Allen, whom he now joins in peace, was proceeded in death by his parents, Albert J. Vigil and Bernice L. Vigil and survived by his beloved children, Stephanie Vigil, Allana Vigil and Maximillian Vigil; his grandchildren, Phillip, Vivilyn, Valerae, Luella and Landon. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph Vigil; his sisters, Wanda Montes and Edith Frizzelle; and his loving nieces and nephews, Lisa Valdez, Raquel Lieras, Joey Vigil, Dana Clark and Greg Clark.
Allen had a life long career as a skilled artisan of wood, whom he learned from his Uncle Joe Gomez in Colorado. He dedicated decades perfecting the craft of cabinetry in the affluent neighborhoods of Bel Air and Beverly Hills, turning ordinary spaces into extraordinary homes. He has contributed to the architectural landscape of Los Angeles, creating luxurious custom pieces that reflect the unique beauty of the city’s history. Allen's true joy came when building for his family. Up until his last days he continued to pour out his heart full of vision; the builder of dreams.
Allen cherished his trips to visit the Vigil Family Farms in Conejos County, Colorado, a legacy spanning six generations. He often shared fond memories of his uncles, aunts, and countless cousins, reflecting on the rich family traditions rooted in farming. Allen spoke passionately about the hard work and dedication that defined their lives, as they all strived to earn an honest living together.
Allen embraced life with joyful pursuits like dancing, bowling, telling jokes, playing the piano, and enjoying a good game of poker. Driven by a thirst for honesty and truth, he was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He often said, "You have to laugh, kid." To him, laughter was a powerful force that lifted the spirit, brought joy, and instilled hope for brighter days ahead. I believe this is the legacy he wanted for all of us—to find joy in life's moments and to support one another along the way.
