Allen Dale Hall, 82, passed away in the early morning hours of June 4, 2026, with his devoted wife of 58 years, Polly, by his side.
Dale was born at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, on October 2, 1943. He spent most of his young life in Phoenix and met the love of his life, Polly Scrivner, at The Double E on Grand Avenue. Dale was there performing with his band, Little Dale and His Buddies.
While he was singing *Miller’s Cave*, Polly wrote her phone number down and placed it on stage, right in front of Dale. He called Polly right away, and they had their first date on Christmas Day in 1967. A whirlwind courtship became official when they married on March 20, 1968. Dale used to joke that he needed to make sure Polly was the one, but it only took him three months to figure out they were made for each other.
They welcomed a son, Shannon Dale, on May 22, 1969, and a daughter, Wanda Bernice, on December 26, 1971. The family lived in Phoenix until October 1975, when they relocated to Memphis, Texas, where they farmed cotton. Dale was most at home on his tractor, either plowing fields or grading asphalt—he was a master of tractor work. The family moved back to Phoenix in April 1984, where they remained for the rest of his life.
Dale played rhythm guitar and sang with his various bands, often performing at the Eagles or Moose Lodge, much to the delight of anyone who had the pleasure of hearing him sing. He was a self-taught master of the guitar, and his voice was unmistakable: once you heard him sing, you were a fan for life.
Dale was a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, but most importantly, he was a friend to all. He loved being on his tractor, singing, playing rhythm guitar, making delicious salsa, watching NASCAR while cheering for Dale Earnhardt, and going to the races to watch sprint cars. He was always quick to offer a helping hand and will be missed immensely.
Dale leaves behind his loving wife, Polly; his son, Shannon (Carey); and his daughter, Wanda Meeboer. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kayla McWilliams (Duncan Kastilahn), Courtney Potter (Dustin), Ashley Davidge (Goose), and Payton Hall; his great-grandchildren, Nicholas McWilliams and Cooper McWilliams; his brother, Robert Hall; and his sister, Sharon Cadmus, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Becil Burke and Robert “Bill” Hall; his sister, Wanda Hall; his granddaughter, Abby Hall; and his beloved dog, Harry.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 20, at the Moose Lodge in Glendale.
