On December 16, 2023 at 6:20 AM, while surrounded by family, Alan Lewis Petko took his last breath at Banner Heart Hospital in Mesa Arizona at the age of 95.
Alan took his first breath on November 3, 1928 in Chicago Illinois.
Alan spent his childhood in Deer Lodge, Montana. As a young man, Alan joined the United States Air Force, and served his country for four years in the Korean War.
After returning home, he met and married the love of his life Betty Nadine Geary. They were married on August 22, 1956.
He began a career in construction as an ironworker.
Upon retiring from the construction field he and Betty relocated to Mesa Arizona where he resided for 30 years. during this time, he fulfilled a 20 year career with JCPenney’s retiring at the age of 82.
Throughout his entire life, he held an unwavering faith in God, and attended the holy Cross church in Mesa, Arizona.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving father
Alan enjoyed camping, fishing and watching old westerns and sports on TV. He was the Phoenix Suns biggest fan.
Alan is survived by his three sons, Terry Petko, jim Petko, and Rich Petko. Alan had many grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. He will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
