Joseph (Joey) McKee went to be with the Lord at the age of 52 on April 20th, 2024 after a yearlong battle with cancer. He fought the good fight right up to the end. He inspired others with his positive outlook in happy anticipation of heaven. He was born on February 4th, 1972, in Temple Texas, moved to Colorado in 1987, and graduated from Manitou High School in 1990. Joey was a man who deeply loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and made every effort to share and live out the love of Jesus. He inspired all who knew him and was loved and admired by many. The impact of Joey's life will be felt for years to come. If Joey was not sharing his love of God, you could catch him usually doing family activities or on the golf course or tennis court. Joey held several jobs, initially in sales-related fields with major corporations like MCI. For the last 20 years, he has served as executive pastor for Calvary Castle Rock. He had a myriad of responsibilities that assisted in the daily functions of the church. He loved shepherding the body of Christ, teaching God's Word, and helping others grow in their faith. Joey was an example of a man driven by his purpose and faith in God, foremost a servant of the Lord. He would always challenge those around him to be the best version of themselves. Joey's outgoing and vivacious personality drew people to him. His easy smile and infectious laughter made him a joy to be around. Joey's legacy will live forever through the many stories he shared and the memories of those who had the opportunity to know him. Joey will be remembered for his quick wit - even in his final days. He held an uncanny ability to make everyone feel special. He will be remembered as a loving son, brother, husband, father, papa, uncle, friend, and pastor. Joey was preceded in death by his father Richard McKee. Joey is survived by his cherished wife Chalyn McKee, his adored sons Christian (wife McKenna) McKee and Collin McKee, and his treasured grandchildren Wylie, Silas, and Finn McKee. His two siblings whom he loved dearly Jason (wife Angie) McKee and Harmony (husband Dale) Casady, a step sister Marnie (husband Johan) Linna, his devoted mother Billie (husband Wayne) Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews, and a large church family.
